I bought this to help me clean up after 20 animals; and because I have tile and wood floors. The scrubbing on my hands and knees and then sopping every thing up with towels was getting old. I also was not cleaning the floors it as often as they needed. For heavy duty cleaning forget the solution tank, you will get a bad case of trigger finger. I fill a gallon bottle with cleaning solution, slosh it on the floor, scrub with scrub brush (while standing), then pull out the machine to scrub a bit more and then suck up the filthy solution. For touch up cleaning I leave the machine set up, slosh some solution on the floor and then scrub and suck up with the machine. My floors are a lot cleaner, the clean-up is easy, and I am not crippled afterwards. But, it is not faster. I bought a used machine and got lucky that all the parts were there and working.

I've owned 3 Hoover Floormates. They all have done
a great job on the tile. This particular model has great suction
and a wider cleaning bar as compared to the others. However,
the rotary brushes don't get up dried bits of dirt or food
as well as the other two. So I've resorted to using a sponge
to get these up prior to cleaning.

i have had three of these for past five years one i ruined i put foamy soap in it and ruined the brush motor. they work good to great they do leave sometimes a film butt they work better than a mop when im done the floor is squeaky clean because i spray the floor with the soultion and let it set for five mintues so all the dried up stuff comes up quickly. it works great that way i do get the water holder full quicker but the floor is so clean and i dumb it in the toilet not the sink

After several years of frustration trying to keep a ceramic tile floor clean - with two dogs tracking red mud in every time it rained, this machine has been a wonderful relief!
Previously, when we mopped, it was obvious we were pushing dirty water around the floor, then it settled in the grout. The only way I found to get the floor clean was scrubbing with a brush then immediately wiping with a clean wet rag - all on my hands and knees. Not only was this very time consuming, it was very hard on my hands, knees and back. This machine does exactly the same thing without any pain and in a small fraction of the time.
The price was the best I found locally or on line and delivery was within a couple of days- amazing!
I am pleased with this purchase in every way.

I bought this 6 months ago and have only used it 3 times. I so wanted to like it, but it doesn't have enough power to clean sticky dirt. I have Spanish tile floors and dogs - they track in dirt and it's gunky. The Floormate takes forever to go over the floors even though it's only a kitchen and nook area. I spent over an hour tonight going slowly and there are still lots of patches of dirt left. It removes superficial dirt all right and the vinyl floor in my laundry room is fairly easy. I think it's just too gentle or the brushes don't get down in the crevices enough. I really wanted something to get the tile floors clean without more time and energy than scrubbing them with a brush. Fail.
